Acting Work

I view myself primarily as a playwright, and I wrote from a young age. I also acted in high school, and a little less in college. Then when I went to Yale School of Drama in playwriting, I expected to do no acting but to my surprise I found acting opportunities arising, especially at the Yale Cabaret (which presented a new show every week, and thus needed lots of performers).

I felt I learned a lot about what works in a play by working with other actors in a play, either written by me or by someone else. Plus I don’t seem to write all the time anyway, and it’s fun for me to perform, at least most of the time.
